31-07-07 Oil Worker striker bingo gold!
An oil refinery worker from Grimsby has struck gold after
scooping over £50,000 on Ladbrokesbingo.com!
The mystery punter thought he'd landed £120 after staking £6 on the game at
Ladbrokesbingo.com on Tuesday night.
The 48-year-old man, who has asked not to be named, said: "I thought I'd won a
small amount and was delighted to have recouped my losses.
"But then I realised people in the chatroom were talking about the jackpot
having gone and congratulating me.
"I e-mailed back and asked them if it was me and they couldn't believe I didn't
know!"
The lucky winner intends to pay off his mortgage with the money and treat
himself to a summer holiday.
He added: "I've had a few reasonable wins on internet casino sites before but
this is a life-changing sum of money.
"It will be nice to know that the money I take home from work at the end of
every month will be mine to spend instead of disappearing into mortgage
repayments."
Ladbrokes spokesman Robin Hutchison said: "This is our biggest ever winner on
our bingo site and one of the biggest ever in the country.
"The customer has spent a few quid with us over the last few years so we are
delighted his perseverance has paid off."
The man won an escalator jackpot on the website by calling 'house' before the
other people playing the game.
As part of an incentive Ladbrokes had been topping up the jackpot by around £400
a day and increasing the number of 'calls' before it could be won. The punter
scooped the pot with just 41 calls.
